Terms of Use
Effective date: September 8, 2026
Welcome to TexasCertified.Me. By taking the Texan Test, browsing the site, or using any of its features, you agree to these Terms — so here they are, in plain English with a Texas accent.
What this site is (and isn't)
TexasCertified.Me is a free entertainment website. The Texan Test is a humor quiz and the certificates it awards are gag certificates — they are not academic, professional, or governmental credentials, and no employer, school or chili cook-off is obliged to respect one. See our full disclaimer for more.
Eligibility & accounts
The site is intended for adults and teens 13 and up. No account is required — you verify an email address to take the test, and that's the extent of the paperwork. Don't use the site if you're not allowed to under the laws that apply to you.
Your content
The name you enter goes on your certificate — that's the point — and if you pass, it may appear on the public Hall of Fame and stats boards, as the test warns before you start. Keep it clean (we screen for profanity), don't impersonate real people, and only submit content you're happy for the world to see. You keep ownership of your name; you give us permission to display it as part of the certificate and public boards that are the entire product.
Acceptable use
No bots, no scraping, no hammering the site (we rate-limit anyway), no trying to forge or game certificates, no probing for vulnerabilities, and no using the certificates to deceive anyone about your actual qualifications. Don't be the person who needs this paragraph.
Our stuff
The site, its questions, designs, and the Lone Star Office's fine sense of humor belong to TexasCertified.Me. Your earned certificate is yours to download, print, post, and frame — you don't need permission to show off. Anything beyond that (reselling, republishing the site) needs our OK first.
Donations
Tips through the Donate page are 100% voluntary, processed entirely by PayPal, and keep the site free. They're not payments for goods or services, and they're non-refundable — though if a tip went through by mistake, email us and we'll do right by you.
Availability & liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We'll keep it running because we love it, but we can't promise uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for anything beyond what the law obliges us for. Maximum liability to you for anything connected to the site is the amount you paid us — which, since everything is free, is usually nothing at all.
Changes & contact
We may update these Terms as the site evolves; the effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you're all right with it. Questions? The Contact page works fine, or email howdy@texascertified.me.
These Terms, like everything else around here, are for a humor site — have them looked over by qualified counsel if you need them to do heavy lifting.
